Coding help please!

I need advice, on coding that is. You see, I wish to learn to code, however I want to know the materials Ill need to do so. My friend told me he would try to teach me, but hes so stuborn he wants me to find out the things Ill need... Someone please tell me so I can start coding D:. He said he would tell me for 10 dollars but Im flat broke

Ok thanks, but that isn't exaclty the answer I was looking for. I'm talking about like would I need the repack or other files? The things to start coding.
